How to Migrate Kin to Solana Wallet

In this article you are going to learn how to migrate Kin to Solana wallet using Trustwallet

KIN has migrated to the Solana blockchain on December 15, 2020, and has now become a SPL token.

You can find more details about it here: KIN Token Migration 478. As a result of the successful governance vote, SPL token support 172 has now been enabled.

The Trust Wallet team is happy to announce that you can start migrating your KIN wallet.

How to migrate Kin to Solana Wallet

Go to your wallet and open KIN. It will show up a red script about migration. Push the script and follow the steps listed below.

Meanwhile, you will need a small amount of Solana to finish the migration process.

Important:
Please make sure you are running the most recent version of the app before attempting the following steps. Available now on iOS (5.10+) and Android (1.24.11+).

Get your Recovery Phrase

Create a Kin wallet

Go to the wallet Import screen and then select Kin. Use the Recovery Phrase, to create the Kin wallet.
This procedure is similar to when you are going to restore a wallet 380.

Export Kin Private Key

Next, go to the list of Wallets found under the Settings tab. Tap on the “i” symbol beside the Kin wallet and then tap on Export Private Key on the list of Backup Options.

Tap on the QR code to save the Private Key on your device memory.

Note:
You can also take a screenshot of the QR code which you can scan if you are restoring the wallet on another device.

Create a Solana Wallet

On the wallet Import screen, choose Solana. Tap on the Private Key tab and Paste it on the space provided. Put a name for the wallet and then tap on Import.

Add Kin SPL Token

Open the Solana wallet and then tap on the toggle on the upper right. Search for Kin and enable it.

Congratulations, you have successfully migrated your Kin wallet.

Note:
Sending KIN will require Solana (SOL) tokens on the same wallet in order to submit a transaction.
